Anton van Wyk, the firms Risk Assurance Leader for Africa and Global Chairman of The Institute of Internal Auditors, was invited to speak at the United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS) 20th anniversary in New York. Anton participated on a panel, together with Ban Ki-moon, the UN Secretary-General, and other distinguished guests representing the UN. The OIOSs mandate is to support the Secretary-General in fulfilling his internal oversight responsibilities, including internal audit, investigation, monitoring and reporting. With an attendance of more than 250 people, the event was a real acknowledgement to the value of internal auditing and the importance the UN places on transparency and good governance.
