Antonio Mourinho Mwanza I have spent the last two years - TopicsExpress

Antonio Mourinho Mwanza I have spent the last two years travelling across the breadth and length of this great country. The appaling levels of poverty, ignorance and illiteracy in the rural areas and the ghettos of this country makes 50 Years of Independence a mockery to our national sovereignty. It is like the oppressed, who happen to be the majority are allowed every 5 years to decide which particular representatives of the Oppressing Class are to represent and oppress them for the next 5 years. Majority rule only works if you are also considering individual rights. Because you cannot have five wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for supper. For any democracy to function, for any government to work it needs the active and broad participation of all its citizens. If you think you are too smart, too clean to involve yourself in politics, then you are not only unpatriotic but you are betraying your own country. It is easy to rule but very difficult to govern. As we celebrate our Golden 50, lets all take a deep and honest reflection on why a country with so much natural wealth and relative peace is in so much squalor and destitution. Its not them versus us. We are in this together. We are one people. Imagine what would happen if all of us could stand up and hold our elected officials to account, if all of us could play our part! In the great words of JFK, ask not what this country can do for you, ask what you can do for this country.
