Any meeting between Palestinian and Israeli negotiators which is premised on an outright refusal by Israel to discuss lifting the illegal siege of Gaza which has continued longer than all of World War 2, cannot and must not be represented as a genuine ceasefire negotiation. The occupiers have consistantly made it clear through decades of mostly US sponored peace talks, that Israel has no interest whasoever in negotiating a peaceful solution but rather is only willing to discuss the terms of an unqualifed Palestinian capitulation. The doublespeak of occupation leaders, their contempt for international law and their unrestrained inclination to violate the terms of any agreements made by Israel, have become so routinely inevitable that now the US is choosing to use its client state Egypt as a proxy to advance the usual disingenuous talks in order to continue the pretense that Israel seeks peace, without accepting the political risks of hosting these games directly.
