Anyone else catch the first round of the Blizzcon 3v3 Championship? It was a shocking but very exciting first day. Much to everyones surprise the North American teams had a very mediocre day. Theres lots of speculation as to how the standings got the way they are currently. Some even going as far as saying that the N.A. teams spent too much time looking for IP addresses via skype (a popular method of getting an IP address in order to DDOS someone). Some have even said that the teams werent concerned about the first round of rankings. Either way this is a development we havent seen at blizzcon. The matches have been very exciting, in contrast to some other blizzcon tournaments where teams would simply ride out a long winded match in order to take advantage of the healing debuff. I think we can look forward to a very exciting tournament this year. I have the youtube broadcast of the matches linked below. One of the best things I noticed was during break they had tutorials narrated by Lore, with included arena play. The first I saw broke down how Crowd control works, possible targets, and why you would CC someone in the first place. Theres a few of them scattered through the stream, and I think its a great feature. Theres no doubt folks like watching who dont need it, but theres a great many out there who are new to PVP and this is a great method to introduce the basics.
