Anyone else had a terrible experience with Rugby Registry Office for weddings? I work for a Nationwide based photography company and was covering a wedding there a few weeks ago. Much to my surprise their policy on photography... Genuinely shocking! No photography for a brides wedding day..!! only allowed during the exchange of rings and when they share their first kiss! We can capture the bride entering the room... as long as thats it Now this is not completely unreasonable, but the reasons given it distracts the registrar when they are speaking... its your job!!! surely you are used to a photographer clicking if you conduct wedding ceremonies. FFS! Not only was I shocked! So was the bride who later said, I knew they were strict but who knew they thought this day was about them. RRO, how can you not let the photographer (who has been paid a lot of money to do a job may i add) on a brides day capture their actual wedding. The bride expects certain parts to be captured... When they turn to face the groom, they join hands facing each other to exhange vows The momentary laugh when you forget the words or mess them up etc... The Sleeping guest in the background The tearful dad/mum/grandparent. The playful child who wont sit down. I have been to over 300 weddings across the UK and I have to admit this registry office is the absolute worst by a clear stretch. The policy must be written by some uptight 80yr old who doesnt understand just how important this day is for the bride and groom and that it is clearly not about them and their rights to exercise the tiny amount of power they have. Sort yourselves out Rugby Registry Office, Stop ruining peoples days and start to understand what the actual day is about and that you are only a tiny part of this and should make sure you cause as little impact as possible. A wedding day is for the BRIDE and GROOM! Not you RRO. Your Sincerely The truly F**k*d off photographer who will tell everyone how bad your services are.
