Anyone ever noticed that Harley Queen, being maybe THE most - TopicsExpress

Anyone ever noticed that Harley Queen, being maybe THE most beloved female villain/Hero/anti hero probably goes compleately against everything a feminist icon should be about, according to well... lots of people. Lets be honest here, shes a tool. Shes the jokers tool, their relationship is abusive and she lets him walk all over her while blaming herself when he gets mad. Her entire motivation for beginning her path as a lawless the first time around is ALL connected to a man, most of the time her sole motivation is about the obsession of a man and her wish to please this one man. Yet, perhaps the really gutsy thing about this is actually daring to showcase this and talk about it. Harleys and the Jokers relationship has never ever been promoted as good nor been gloriefied. Kind of daring to look into the kind of women that would marry people like Charles Manson... they are real, this actually happens. Still Harley is a victim! She was manipulated so bad into her current position and keeps on being manipulated. Any good story about her acknowledges that she is a victim and thusly tragic, and to even dare taking that approach and going for it like that take some guts in our moden age, if Harley had been invented now, there would be like an entire horde of people shouting about it. Harley Quinn IS one of my all time favourite costumed females of any kind. Why? Well, she has personality beyond her gimmick, she has depths, a touching story, she has weaknesss, she has a frail mind yet its also pretty dangerous because she can also blow up and become angry very quick. Shes more capable and smart than she herself believes she is, but is held down by the joker, which pretty often becomes evident. And somehow, she really managed to de-attach herself from the joker, she is NOT just female joker, she is her own compleately different unique character.
