The role of Access and Outreach Officer is an exciting opportunity to lead the outreach and access work of the Department of Physics during the maternity leave of the permanent postholder. The role has three strands. Firstly, you will be responsible for delivering an on-going programme of activities within the department including the high profile Stargazing in conjunction with the BBC. Secondly, you will work on managing Oxfords contribution to the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO), acting as a trustee and keeping the website updated. Thirdly, working with the Ogden Trust to encourage and promote the teaching and learning of Physics. Applicants should possess a degree in a science subject, be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, possess strong communication skills including the proven ability to draft high quality written work and be willing to work flexible hours and to travel within the UK when necessary.
