Anyone know of a good rigging / skinning solution for characters - TopicsExpress

Anyone know of a good rigging / skinning solution for characters in 3DS Max? So far I know the following but they all have major cons: 1. Mixamo is nice but the rigs dont have forearm twist so hands never look quite right and regardless of the character size, it cost ~$80 per rig. 2. Skin wrapping is nice, but you have to find a good base mesh with a rig close to what you want with good skinning. SkinWrap works best for alternate costumes on the same character imo. 3. Skin utilities are interesting and I havent quite gotten the hang of them yet but I feel itll have the same issues as SkinWrap. 4. scriptspot/3ds-max/scripts/auto-mesh-skinning -- this auto skinning script is nice but the setup is a bit lengthy. 5. bonespro/ -- Bones Pro is expensive and its not really great for games. Better for animation since it uses morphing deformation. 6. scriptspot/3ds-max/scripts/autoweight-automatic-skinning-tool-for-3ds-max -- Another script that, though it isnt free, it relatively cheap. Similar issues to #4. 7. Use Mayas Heatmapping for skinning, export as an FBX and then impot into Max... Well...requires two 3D suites so thats not great. Any other ideas? Thanks!
