Anyone thats been a student or faculty at ETSU knows that shy any given morning in the Culp Center on campus can be a jungle of students, noise and activity. But on September 11th, 2001 you could have heard a pin drop as dozens of students gathered around the TVs and watched one of the saddest days of our country unfold before our eyes. I will never forget the sound of Katie Courics outburst when the second plane hit the tower, or the sight of silent tears running down the faces of both the men and women. At that time, words could not describe the intensity of the emotions we were all going thru as Americans. Yet while we were silent then, we will speak out now and for years and years to come so that day will never be forgotten. So that the brave men and women that breathed their last will live on thru the memories and the stories that we will tell. We will not be silenced by cruel evil, but bring our voices together to praise the living that are fighting for our safety and freedom every day, selflessly and fearlessly. As a nation we will come together and keep the memories of our dearly departed alive so that no matter how long it takes WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
