Anyone who shops these days know store codes, especially when it comes to cashiers. If the beam light is on, then the cashier is available. If the beam is out, then the cashier was not available. At the beam, inside the Ghetto Safeway on Columbia road, this rule is for fools. As I approached an unlit beam, I noticed 2 customers, a cashier, and a bag-person going full-speed. I thought this was unusual so I asked were they still open, thinking that they forgot to turn on their lights. The bag-guy said that they were opened. So I unloaded my basket. Then the bag-guy went away and a woman appeared behind the cashier. They were having a conversation. Then the cashier grabbed her cash-box and walked away without saying a word to anyone. The remaining person finished tallying-up the customers groceries. I had time to arrange my stuff to fit into bags properly. Heavy items then smaller items. The new cashier started doing a fine job, but the bag-guy reappeared and just started throwing stuff in. I left with a lop-sided bag.
