Once again this is a warning coming out of Moscow again like the Russian President has warned the West against taking this one-sided step or action in Syria. Now I want to look at that aspect of it, the dangers of all of this. We not only have the Syrian aspect amid of course dealing with the Syrian military but we are looking at the Russians who so far have been extremely firm and it seems that they are trying to do their best to counter any moves by the United States. How dangerous is this situation? Glenn: Well it is very dangerous. The Russians, they can fight back. That is what makes the situation different from others that the Russians are a nuclear armed country, they are very rich in natural resources and this is basically a game that has been playing out now for many, many years at least back since 1967 when the USS Liberty was attacked in the interest of driving the Russians out of the Middle East because of course the plan was to blame this attack on Egypt which was Soviet Union’s biggest client state in the region at that time. And so we are seeing basically a replay of all of this and that the United States and Israel are desperately trying to push the Russians out of the region permanently. The last stronghold obviously that the Russians have at least in the Arab Middle East is in Syria but certainly the close ties that Iran has with Russia has [made] the United States and Israel very concerned and so this is a very dangerous situation. You know Vladimir Putin and more importantly the people behind him have made it clear that they are not going to be pushed around like Iraq, like Afghanistan, like Libya and like all of these other countries that the United States chooses to pick fights with who cannot fight back and I think that the Russians, they have a very long view of history here. They are not necessarily looking into next week or next month or even next year but rather the next twenty or thirty years and they have intentions upon remaining in the region if that means that we are going to have to go to war over this issue then I think that they will do it.
