Apart from the sheer number of hours spent neck-stooped peering - TopicsExpress

Apart from the sheer number of hours spent neck-stooped peering into our tiny devices, reading the text and poking at the keys, mobile phones are a nightmare for the neck. Although they are lighter to hold, they are actually much harder to get near the ear than the graceful old hand sets. You have to haul your arm up, with a really tightly bent elbow, and tuck your neck over to the side. The lifting the arm and the sustained sideways neck posture is a great strain on the side of the neck. This same posture is particularly unwieldy if you are walking along. Using a head set or an ear-piece is an absolute must if you are planning on conversing easily while walking along. It makes all the difference. You can even look at the view, instead of being beady-eyed concentrating!
