Apologetics is not the foundation for Scripture; Scripture is the foundation for apologetics. A true apologetic is one that is built upon a philosophy according to Christ, and not human tradition. Any method of defense that is built upon Aristotle, Plato, Descarte, Kant, or any philosophy, is not a Christian Apologetic. The power to convict man of his sin and unbelief resides not in eloquent wisdom or signs, but in the Gospel alone. No matter how articulately unbelief is presented, thorough knowledge of Gods Word is the best preparation to demonstrate the deceitfulness of human wisdom. Covenantal Apologetics is not a formulaic defense that is merely rehearsed when someone questions the truth of Gods existence. A Covenantal Apologetic brings the manifold wisdom of God to the various ways man suppresses the truth in unrighteousness. It seeks to display how suppression always reveals itself in both word and deed. It simultaneously expresses the only true wisdom - that which is rooted in Christ. - K.
