Appeal for help to identify a man suspected of stealing a family car in Small Heath. Police Constable Tom Lyons, from Stechford’s Investigation Team, has today (12/01) released CCTV footage of man suspected of stealing a family car in Small Heath. During a burglary on Waverley Road on Monday 8th December keys were taken to a Mazda. A short time later CCTV captures a man walking up and down the street - he is seen to do this several times before retrieving something from his pocket - he then looks up and down the street before walking on. Minutes later the family’s car is stolen − and police believe the man in the CCTV may be responsible and are appealing for information to help identify him. PC Lyons, said: “Following lengthy enquiries we are now in a position to release a video of a man we would like to speak to in connection with the burglary and theft of a car. The footage shows the man acting suspiciously, walking up and down the street and checking and pressing something in his pocket. We believe that the item he had in his pocket may have been the stolen key fob for the Mazda. The footage is quite clear and we are sure someone will be able to identify the man and we are urging people to come forward. Please call WMP on 101 if you have ANY information.
