April 12, 2012OBITUARY Lourice E. Stanclift 1920-2012 By The Clatskanie Chief staff CLATSKANIE, Oregon (SmallTownPapers) -- Lounce Emily Stanchft,91, a resident of the Clatskanie area, passed away April 8 at Community Home Health and Hospice in Longview. She was born Oct. 14, 1920 in Hebron, Neb. to Charles and Evelena (Bowman) Tripp. Lourice married Garland Chick on Aug. 30, 1935 and moved to Barlow, Ore. Together they had four children. Garland preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1971. She married Hudson Stan-cliff Nov. 11, 1969. They lived in Wyoming and Colorado, then moved to Westport after retiring to be close to family. Hudson passed away Feb. 6, 1989. For the last few years Lourice lived at The Amber assisted living facility in Clatskanie. She was a homemaker whose interests included camping, fishing, embroidery and spending time with her family. Laurice is survived by her son-in-law Ray Donaldson of Clatskanie; eight grandchildren - Curt Holum and Patti Holum of Estacada, Vicki Holum, Dan Holum, George Holum and Terri Sampson of Clatskanie, Neila Furlow of Mulino and Mona Willis of Canby; 12 great-grandchildren and nine great-greatgrandchildren. In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by all four of her children Dixie Donaldson, Mona Zawicki, Charles Chick and Donald Chick, and grandsons David Ray Zawicki and Adam Zawicki. A celebration of life service is scheduled Thursday, April 19, at 2 p.m., at The Amber, located at 365 SW BelAir Drive in Clatskanie. Interment is planned at Eaton Cemetery in Eaton, Colo. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Community Home Health and Hospice, RO. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632. Groulx Family Mortuary is handling arrangements.
