Arcata gas station robbed Saturday night; police searching for suspect The Times-Standard Posted: 06/23/2013 11:03:55 AM PDT Updated: 06/23/2013 11:15:39 AM PDT ARCATA -- The Arcata Police Department is searching for a man who allegedly stole money from a cash register of a city gas station after threatening a clerk with a knife Saturday night. Police officials said the suspect is a white male in his mid 30s, medium build and was wearing dark clothing and a beanie. The man wore a bandanna over his face during the robbery. The suspect left on foot in an unknown direction. According to officials, officers were dispatched to the Texaco Gas Station on 421 J Street on the report of an armed robbery. The suspect had already left when officers from both the Arcata and Humboldt State Police Departments arrived. A further search netted no suspect. Upon interviewing the clerk -- who was not identified by officials nor injured during the incident -- officers learned the suspect entered the store, threatened the clerk with a knife and stole an undisclosed money out of the register.
