Are U A Big Fan Of Quentin Tarantino & Anurag Kashyap Dont Miss This technically brilliant making Masterpiece. Ulidavaru Kandante ( As Seen By The Rest ) Kannada Movie. This is out and out a character driven script. There is a story to be told and the story is narrated quite interestingly. Multiple view points have been used in films for decades, its success or failure depends on the art and facility with which it can aid the story being told. Rakshit has grandly succeed in his efforts. In the past we have witnessed Yuva, Memento, Hero, Irreversible, Amores Perros that use various perceptions of facts. What these films all have in common is that the visual device used does not get in the way of the story but enhances it. Ulidavaru Kandante too falls in this league. The story begins with a journalist (Sheethal Shetty) visiting the jail to interview an inmate while researching for her news story. She goes about interviewing all those who had witnessed certain events that led to her embark upon her story, as she aptly names it through their view point - Ulidavaru Kandante or, As Seen By The Rest. Ulidavaru Kandante is presented in 5 chapters each telling a narrative of its own. The first one begins with Raghu (Rishab Shetty) escaping from a few attackers who are after him for something. The second chapter is of Richard Antony aka Richie (Rakshith Shetty), notorious for his habit of breaking noses, who happens to be the son of a local pastor (B Suresha). The third story is of Ratnamma (Tara), a single mother who waits for her estranged son to return. Then the fourth is of Bala (Achyuth Kumar) and finally, the fifth one is a love story of Munna (Kishore), who is in love with Balas sister (Yajnaa Shetty). All five stories offer different perspectives of one incident. Rakshith Shetty, Tara, Achyuth Kumar, Kishore, and Rishabh are superb when it comes to pulling off their roles. Yajnaa Shetty impresses with her brief role, But Master Sohan, the child artist who represents Democracy, catches eyes with his performance. Karm Chawla worldclass cinematography visually treats the audience with his magic. while editor Santhosh Radhakrishnan complements him justly. The background score by Ajaneesh Lokanath is brilliant and the sound mix by Renjith Vishwanath is on par with excellence. Director Rakshith Shetty presents the film with a very unusual narrative to the audience, with a rich artistic feel that is certain to have an international appeal. The only drawback of the movie is its slow pace midway. Unlike its other counterparts, Ulidavaru Kandante does not overwhelm one with unwanted songs or fights or comedy scenes intentionally inserted to appeal the mass, but is rather straight to the point and does not deviate from the subject. Do not expect a wow climax. Just watch the perspectives and bring out your own .... :) Ulidavaru Kandante and of course, Rakshith Shetty, are out to set a new banchmark in the way Kannada movies are going to be made. Brace yourselves for an alteration in your perspectives .... :) Tumba chennagide!!
