Are You Becoming Like Christ? Lets see... Philippines 2:5-11, You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a servant and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminals death on a cross.. Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father...... Wow! We are to have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had... A attitude that reflect a humble servants heart, that lived every day of His life living in obedience to his Father... Mmmm, I dont think Ive ever heard any preacher challenge me with this message. And, do you want to know why? Because it would challenge my lifestyle to much, and I would probably look for a new church... Back to the life we are to resemble - the life of Jesus... If this is the attitude and lifestyle we are to resemble as we live on this earth, I believe most church goers are going at it all wrong. I dont see many, if any, who have a attitude like this, that brings glory to God the Father, through their lifestyles.... Can we look at how Jesus was able to have this kind of attitude? First, He gave up His divine privileges as He took the humble position of a servant. And second, He humbled Himself in obedience to God the Father.... The one word that describes the life and attitude of Jesus, as He lived His life to bring glory to his Father, is HUMBLE.... This word humble is so absent in our churches today! And if this word humble is so absent in the church, then this next word that we must have, will also be absent - the word SERVANT.... I truly believe that we need to wake up to the importance of how we are to live out our lifestyles here on this earth! If Jesus says, If you want to follow me, you must die to your selfish ways, pick up your cross daily, and follow me, I think He means it!.... I think we need to apply the attitude of Christ that is shown here in this passage of Scripture, so that our lifestyles will bring glory to the Father; And, the attitude that if we choose not to apply this type of attitude to our lifestyles, theres a strong probability that we will fall away from Christ and our free gift of salvation.... This is the Gospel Plan that I read in the Bible! A plan that reflects our need for Gods Word and Gods Spirit, as we try and reflect the attitude of Gods Son...... The Bible says that only a few will be willing to accomplish this task. And its all because most wont humble themselves and die to self... Will you be one of the few?
