Are we ever going to see a day when unarmed Black men can feel safe in their own neighborhoods from those who should be protecting them? We protest, we march, we mourn. We elect new mayors who appoint new police chiefs. It keeps happening. Amadou Diallo, Ramerly Graham, now Eric Garner. Will this ever stop? What will it take to make it stop? Feeling enraged, feeling helpless. I cannot live with this . These are my friends, my colleagues, my neighbors, members of my family. An injury to one is an injury to all.
