Are you living “bold as a lion,” roaring in the face of fear? Or are your fears roaring back at you? All of us face fear in life—whether it’s fear regarding finances, health, disaster, heights… there are literally hundreds of fears and phobias that keep people from experiencing all that God has for them. I want you to think about what fears have plagued you. Because you are about to be free from fear forever! Let’s look at a simple formula from God’s Word that will empower you to live with boldness, confidence and be truly fearless. 1. Know You Have Power! All fear comes from a sense of powerless over your future, your situation, and your ability to control the outcome. When you feel powerless, fear begins to surround your heart and mind. But “God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind!” (2 Timothy 1:7) Jesus said, “Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19) When you know you have this kind of power, nothing can hurt you. And fear will leave you! 2. Know you are a conqueror! Romans 8:37 says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” In all what things? Verse 35 tells us, “tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril and sword.” That about covers anything that we could be afraid of! And when you conquer your fears, you will move into MORE that God has for you. 3. Believe God’s perfect love toward you. “God demonstrated His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us!” (Romans 5:8) And now NOTHING can separate you from His Love! Even though we aren’t perfect, God still loves us completely, totally and perfectly! And perfect love casts out fear. (1 John 4:18). Rest in God’s great love for you today and your fears will melt away. 4. You have boldness whether you realize it or not. It’s in you! “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing but the righteous are as bold as a lion!” (Proverbs 28:1). “We can live with boldness because we have been washed by the blood of Jesus and have been made the righteousness of God”. (2 Corinthians 5:21) When you know who you are in Christ, you can face your fears with confidence! You have royal blood running through your veins.
