DBee Healing Arts: Calm down honey bee, Acne Mask Harness your home healing powers by combining honey’s antibacterial abilities and aloe vera’s anti-inflammatory properties (reduce redness & inflammation). The result is one extremely calming mask. You Will Need: 1 tablespoon Aloe Vera gel (How to below) 1 tablespoon honey (raw and unpasteurized honey works best) Bowl (Glass container with lid/ tight seal) *Equal amounts of aloe gel to honey (whatever amount) Steps: Combine the 2 ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Externally apply to any area of your body with acne (face, neck, chest, back) Let it work for 20-25 minutes. Rinse with warm water. **Homemade Aloe Vera Gel: How to make homemade aloe vera gel, and yield enough to store in the fridge for weeks. Youll need a few things. 7-8 Thumb sized pieces of aloe vera plant (When cutting your Aloe plant at home allow the freshly cut plant to stand upright and drain/yellow thick substance none as the latex, this has laxative properties, be warned) 4-5 Teaspoons Grape seed oil/Almond oil base/ (Vit B or C capsules drained) Carefully remove the thick skin from the plant/ Revealing the thick Gel like flesh. Cube and place in a blender/food processor. Add your base oil (This will allow you to refrigerate your Gel for 6-8 weeks) Mix to a thick/ Creamy texture (Dont over blend) *Taste test your mask, Research reveals that daily consumption of honey can aid in: (1) Preventing some forms of cancer; (2) boosting your immune system; and (3) relieving seasonal allergies (consuming local honey). Because honey is bursting with antioxidants that strengthen the immune system, it can do a whole lot more than just sit on your face, fighting dry skin and acne. Whether mixed into meals, drunk in tea or taken straight from a spoon. *You can also reap aloe’s other health benefits by taking it orally. As with honey, aloe’s skin-healing ability is just the tip of the medicinal iceberg: when consumed, aloe can help a lot of gastrointestinal issues–from IBS to acid reflux disease. Just be careful with how much aloe you eat (or drink, for that matter); too much and your digestive track will not be able to handle it. Have fun, Enjoy the process of hOMe healing arts.
