As marketers we were taught there are three primary moments in the buying cycle: stimulus, where you hear an ad, see a commercial, read a blog, etc.; first moment of truth, where you show up at shelf to purchase the product or service; and lastly the second moment of truth, where experience the service or take the product home. ZMOT is a new shift is this traditional marketing paradigm. Zero moment of truth occurs between stimulus and showing up at shelf where the average consumer is now researching 10.4 pieces of information about the product or service they want PRIOR to engaging you.
