Area: Ireland, , Nationwide, Description: MET ??IREANN has issued an orange alert weather warning for the West, North-west and Co Kerry. Strong winds are set to combine with high seas between this afternoon and Monday morning, leading to an increased risk of flooding, especially in coastal areas. The weather service is warning of ???extremely windy, blustery conditions at times during the rest of the weekend, with winds gusting between 100 and 130 km/h at times - highest in coastal areas???. Met ??ireann says the conditions will be exacerbated by high seas and waves, with Sunday afternoon and Sunday night the forecast danger times. ???Occasional heavy, squally, thundery downpours of rain,??? are expected too. The orange alert wind warning covers Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Kerry and Limerick. A status yellow warning is in place for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford. The Irish Coast Guard has issued an advisory that those on exposed coasts should take note of the forecast for their area. People are being urged by the coast guard to stay away from ???exposed coasts, cliffs, piers, harbour walls, beaches, promenades or any other coastal areas during the inclement weather???. According to a statement from the service: If you do see someone in difficulty in the sea, on the shore, cliffs, lakes or rivers dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard. High tide for Galway tomorrow afternoon is at 12.42pm - tide times for the rest of the affected area can be checked here. Itll also be cold tomorrow - conditions will start off mild at dawn, before dropping off, with afternoon temperatures of between 3 and 6 degrees expected.
