Each man uses the genres of either portraiture or maps, or both, to make pointed commentary. Featuring performances by Nyugen E. Smith. • • The New World is Going to Need Houses: Oculus Collective • October 11 - November 16 • Opening Reception October 11, 6-10 PM • 93 Market Street, 2nd Floor • • Presented by Oculus Arts Collaborative. Artists: Linda Chen, Alex Scott Cumming, Kevin Durkin, Dawn Foster, Heidi Hussa, Esha Kallianpur, and Elizabeth Storm. • This nascent collective aggressively transforms a previously vacant space, exploring the limits and pleasures of collaborative practice and raising questions about utopia. With rumors of additional musical performance. • • GhostFood: Miriam Simun and Miriam Songster • October 11 through 13 • • This food truck will be parked in front of the activated spaces on Market Street and features climate-change branded food by artists. Presented in collaboration with Marfa Dialogues/NY: Climate Change and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. • • Market Street Convergence, presented by Gallery Aferro and the Newark Arts Council transforms Market Street into a hub of culture for the months of October and November at 73, 75 and 77 Market Street, 85 Market Street, 93 Market Street, as well as the street and sidewalk of the block. • • Market Street Convergence includes 9 solo shows; a large group exhibition, a three-man show, an artist collective installation; a symposium; an artist food truck; screenings; a performance art marathon; kinetic installations; groundbreaking poetry events; interactive public art; workshops; and open studios. • • Collaborative partners: Rutgers University and the Paul Robeson Gallery, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Marfa Dialogues / NY, The Geraldine R.
