Arjun Nanje Gowda this had to be done.... In fact many of friends who think of me as a sensible person and at the same time have a good opinion about AAP are finding it difficult to reconcile when they find me criticizing AAP day in and day out. There are reasons for me to criticize AAP. Most of the reasons are there for everyone to see. 1. I know AAP is born out of the India Against Corruption movement basically. Even I was a part of the IAC movement and along with some of my friends took part in fasting, and distributing awareness pamphlets etc. When a large chunk of IAC faction decided to go political I was mostly optimistic and a little skeptic. 2. I found that the most of the IAC momentum transpired to the AAP with the exception of Anna Hazare and Kiran Bedi. In fact I thought Arvind Kejriwal was Bhagath Singh reborn when he took up that agitation against Sheila Dikshit where he fasted for about 6 days. 3. AAP created a large wave and found sympathizers with the cause. Many of my friends went to New Delhi to campaign for AAP. Somehow I was not having full confidence yet. 4. AAP did remarkably well in its debut. I personally felt that they should have respected the mandate of the people and aligned with the BJP and formed a Government in Delhi else they should have stayed neutral. If people have given you 28 seats, they have given the BJP 32 seats. Democracy is about respecting the democratic verdict and not being fanciful. 5. Initially AAP said they are not taking the support of either the Congress or the BJP. They were very particular about it. But they did a lot of drama and decided to form the Government. No way in the world that I can see an anti corruption movement which accused and abused the Congress day in and day out take their support and form a Government. There is absolutely no guarantee that they will not support/take support of Congress if they get a considerable number of seats. What the Congress has done is 60+ years is evident. Dynastic politics, every project named after the Gandhis and their intolerable level of corruption. How can I accept a new party which should be the ideal one to have such an alliance with the Congress? Why this dirty drama? I tell you - If I want a new party I want an IDEAL party and not the slightly modified party. 6. If you come to their administration, its all about lies and lies. Everyone is corrupt except themselves and whatever they do is right. This idea is insane. I can never believe that a party is for anti corruption and anti truth at the same time. 7. Now it is Anti Modi. Its all about arrogance. That much I can say. 8. This great Kejriwal called RSS as Communal and went to one Tauqir Raza to seek his support. This Tauqir Raza is someone who publicly put a price on Taslima Nasreens head. What can I say about this act of hypocrisy and betrayal? And to believe that such a person is my ideal! Am I a fool? 9. Their repeated controversial statements on Kashmir. Who are these people to give judgement on Kashmir? I know there should be a solution to the Kashmir issue. But the solution should take into consideration the history of Kashmir. The people of Kashmir may say that they want to be with Pakistan. That is no reason why we should hand over Kashmir to Pakistan. Kashmir was a part of India from time immemorial and a large number of Hindus have been displaced from Kashmir. AAP people deserved to be put in a History class and not in the Parliament. 10. Apart from their claims on anti corruption, they have no vision for India. They say anti corruption and try to mask all their shortcomings. 11. AKs book Swaraj was plagiarized and he speaks of anti corruption! and He is yet to vacate Delhi CMs official residence!. 12. Delhi was a place for them to demonstrate what they can do. The less said of their rule in Delhi the better. 13. Finally, they want to destroy all the political parties including the Loksatta, which in my most honest analysis is the party with best ideals. I dont think such an attitude can be encouraged. 14. AAP doesnt walk the talk. How can I support a batch of arrogant people? As I said earlier, if I were to support a new party, I can only support an ideal party. If I were to compromise on a new party I can very well do the same with the old parties. That is much less disturbing. 15. At the end of the day, my temperament doesnt suit with that of AAP. I am not into politics for nervous excitement. I want to contribute positively. I really dont see my role model in AAP and thus I cant join them and endorse their current leader who just doesnt seem mature enough to lead India. 16. May be they have ideas and they may even be right. But its all may be and I cant trust them against my common sense. God speed them if they are for good. There are hundreds of allegations against them. Even if I dont believe them, my own eyes do not give me confidence about AAP. So I shun them except in some very exceptional cases. Thanks a ton Naveena CK sir it was a perfect debate..
