Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud complained over the use of an elbow during the Gunners’ 3-0 defeat to Everton earlier today. The French striker produced a lacklustre performance as his side fell to another away defeat and he seems to suggest that he was being bullied and treated a little unfairly during the game by the Everton defence. Considering Giroud is six feet four inches tall and plays as Arsenal’s sole striker, you’d expect him to take a physical approach from the opposition on the chin, even thrive on it and use it as inspiration to win a game. Clutching at straws? He needs to get used to it if Everton talked about taking a physical approach with the Frenchman because Wigan could use similar tactics next weekend in the FA Cup game between the sides.
