Arsenal will face competition from Man City to land Serie A hit-man. Gunners facing a battle to bring Florentina forward to the Emirates Stadium this summer. Manchester City have joined Arsenal and Chelsea in the scramble for wantaway Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic, reports Football Italia. The Montenegrin has made no secret of his desire to leave the Serie A outfit this summer for a new challenge after five seasons in Florence. The Gunners and Scudetto winners Juventus were early front-runners for the 23-year-old’s signature but with the Viola refusing to budge on their £25m valuation of Jovetic, both clubs have turned their attentions to Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain. Premier League runners-up City have now entered the race for the Montenegro international, who bagged 13 Serie A goals last season. New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is also an admirer of the versatile attacker and the interest from the mega-rich duo will please Fiorentina, who are keen to resolve the situation quickly so they can bring in Bayern Munich’s Mario Gomez as a replacement.
