Art is expression, not reiteration. They arent helping you if they mold your craft for you. They owe you some credit to make your own mistakes. If you are just going to make whats already been made, dont expect a unique outcome. You can only learn so much from nay-sayers and hardcore traditionalists before you become part of the same cycle. They are telling you what to make when they should just let you figure that part out for yourself. Im tired of artists who associate themselves with that liberal, open-minded crowd in society, while they turn around and reject difference right and left. Tell me, did your heroes internalize every word of advice they ever received? Hell no. Appreciate difference, make mistakes, stay curious and hungry. And always be your first resource if you expect you dreams to come true. End rant.
