He lives, breathes and makes art – and at times he is even a living art piece. In this playful docu-fiction, we follow Udo on a road trip through famous museums in Frankfurt, Cologne, Paris, Copenhagen and Berlin, and eavesdrop as he chats with artists including Marcel Odenbach, Rosemarie Trockel, Jonathan Meese and Tobias Rehberger and filmmakers such as Nicolette Krebitz and Lars von Trier. Boasting a filmography of more than 200 works, Kiers career is full of daring choices; parts in which he leaves a lasting impression. Hes worked with such icons as Andy Warhol, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Guy Maddin. In Paris, Udo visits a Robert Mapplethorpe show. Examining a shot of his younger self, he wittily notes, “Back then it was erotic, today it is neurotic. At a typical German restaurant, he explains to a Pamela Anderson look-alike the benefits of sour roast. A Copenhagen highlight is his silent conversation with von Trier, with whom he has worked many times since Medea in 1988, most recently on Melancholia and Nymphomaniac.
