Article from Racing Pluse Amelia bags another classic with great ease Pesi Shroff trained Amelia added another classic when she swamped the opposition in the Gr 3 Deccan Bookmakers Fillies Championship Stakes, the feature event of races held at Malakpet on Sunday. Another highlight of the day was the easy victory of Anant Vatsalya trained Kohinoor Wish in the A P Governor`s Trophy. The progeny of Gaswar was recording the 18th win of his amazingly consistent career. Amelia simply towered over the rest as the daughter of Multidimensional had beaten a quality field in the Gr 1 Fillies Championship Stakes at Bangalore two months ago. There was none in the field who could test her to the hilt. Jockey Sandesh had the favourite relaxed in the rear group before scything through the field with a scintillating run inside the final 200 metres which enabled her to win by a widening margin of over three lengths. Palm Springs who attempted start to finish tactics stayed put to take the second spot ahead of Lucy Diamond who was in chase of her right from the start. Magical Spell was under pressure to pick up speed and was within striking distance of the front runners inside the final furlong but she could not produce that bit extra and had to settle for the fourth position. Beauty Is Truth, who had run a surprise second behind Amelia at Bangalore, failed to reproduce that spark and struggled in the rear and finished where she started. The victory of Amelia was a good advertisement for her first season sire Multidimensional who had made a clean sweep of all the three classics for three year olds at the Bangalore Summer Season. Anant Vatsalya trained Kohinoor Wish has been a veritable money spinner, showing her versatility over trips ranging from six to eight furlongs. The terms of the 1200 metres A P Governor`s Trophy were heavily loaded in his favour which was why he went to the post as cramped on money favourite. Jockey John had him in about the fourth position as the speedy Vijays Conquer went on a start to finish mission followed by Bangalore challenger Cape Ferrat, Plenipotent and Dusty Lady. Plenipotent who was expected to pose a stiff hurdle to the favourite was the first to fade out of contention well before the final turn. Vijays Conquer and Cape Ferrat battled for supremacy in the straight but with about 100 metres left in the race; Kohinoor Wish came up with his spirited burst of speed and sailed away for an easy win. Cape Ferrat pushed the long time leader to gain the second spot. Shezad Abbas trained All Pepper brought off a big upset in the 1200 metres Original Vel Radha Balasubramni Gold Cup, a Category I race, with a powerful surge in the final furlong which took him past the front running Ashwa Shakti in the final 100 metres. The field was bunched up in the final furlong but things took a dramatic turn thereafter with All Pepper storming home. Ashok Chakra finished third while Proof once again disappointed. Jockey Pradeep Chouhan had his quota of three winners for the day. Vittal Deshmukh trained Vijays Triumph recorded an encore by taking over the running inside the two furlongs from front running Rajkumar and won the 1400 metres Democracy Plate, a Category III race from the late rallying Black Bolt who closed up the leeway considerably with great enthusiasm. Symbol of Beauty was a long way third. Chouhan`s win on Apprise in the 1400 metres P R Khade Memorial Cup (Div I), a Category II race had to be earned with great difficulty. Apprise and favourite Hard Kingdom were in the rear group but both maneuvered their way in the middle and got down to fight a stiff battle. Apprise managed to stave off his strong rival by a head to record an encore. Price Warrior, who raced up front from the beginning, had to settle for third slot. Srinivas Reddy`s Precisely That had to be driven out by Chouhan to contain the challenge of Rose Queen who came from behind with a big run but fell short narrowly despite Trevor Patel riding all out. Jockey Imran Khan guided Light Blue Sky to an easy win in the 1600 metres Chaitanya Chakram Cup, a Category II race. Favourite Machine Gun lost considerably ground at the start and hence had plenty of problems to take care of. Light Blue Sky showed up prominently in the straight and had the race sewn up long way from, winning by four lengths. Ice Barrier came from behind to get the second slot ahead of Machine Gun who tired out after expending energy covering up lost ground at the start. Faisal Hassan trained Dazzling Empress gave an arm chair ride to victory for jockey Mark in the 1200 metres Elusive Hero Cup, a Category III race. The favourite led from the start and though he slightly came off a straight course, Dazzling Empress won by over seven lengths with the jockey hardly having to move a muscle. Pakat Pakat Pakat headed Arriviste for the second slot.
