Arunachal Pradesh police caught four army personnel on Thursday evening when they were trying to flee, allegedly after burgling a house in Itanagar. The gang of nine — there were five civilians — were booked under the Arms Act for carrying assault rifles. “They were intercepted at Banderdewa check gate (Arunachal-Assam border) following information that they were fleeing in an off-roader after looting R6.89 lakh from a local person. A case was registered under the Arms Act,” superintendent of police Nabam Gungte said.
