As 2014 ends, my priorities have become new. Given the etch-a-sketch of my life changed dramatically, Ive decided to shift the focus of my career. While I will open for whom I am scheduled to, Ive decided I want a different life now. With my 200 song catalog (that is consistently licensed), Horrorscope, and my friend Andrews accomplishment this year, Ive made the decision to semi-retire. Ive been doing this a long time, and Im entering a phase where I just dont need to anymore. I will base myself on Maui (theres an airport there for anything that comes up, and everybody knows Im a fan of Hotel Bel Air, haha, when I need to be in Los Angeles for book related matters). When my mother left us, things just changed for me. Horrorscope (and the soundtrack), as well as other matters in my life, are putting me into a situation where I wont have to do anything. The daily grind of shows is not something that Im interested in, rather, Ill do single thematic projects on occasion when I feel an interest. Im not 18 anymore. I want to keep my life light from now on. Im going to do one more album with Warner Brothers, but that will be recorded in-studio on Oahu. If it requires a tour, Ill do so. Korea is also a huge thing for me right now, and its a closer flight from Hawaii as well. I just want to chill out from now on, have a kid, travel, have a home, and live my life. Ive paid my dues. The last two years made me come to the realization that I just dont need to do this anymore, and Im lucky enough to be able to live off what Ive done, and the projects that do not require I live anywhere to do what I do. Ill always be involved in fun projects. I just dont need to be on the mainland to do it. I didnt move here this time for me, and I simply do not want to be here. I love Maui. Thats where Im going. Im an ocean/boat guy, at heart. - BE
