As 2014 is coming to a close, I have to admit that it’s been one of the most EVENTFUL years of my life and ministry. I have learned so many things on this path over the last four years - probably enough to write several books (which I plan to do). One of the greatest lessons have been to have a resolute FAITH in God’s word, God’s promise, & God’s power. I have experienced that the very people you have been SENT to help can become your CHIEF ANTAGONISTS and the ones who are bent on bringing shame, accusation, and all manner of evil against you. It reminds of an experience that Jesus Christ of Nazareth had where His powerful ministry was bringing so much change & impact that they had to find a way to vilify Him. As He was casting out demons, they reasoned, He must be doing it by the Prince of Demons (Matthew 9:34). The people just could NOT accept the fact that He was anointed by God to do the things that He was doing. When you have been SENT to a place, many times the region itself is hostile to your presence because of the systems & issues you must address. CONGRATULATIONS! If you come into a place and EVERYONE welcomes you with open arms, there’s no difference between you and them. You won’t have much success there. There are networks & alliances of people who are duped by the principalities over the territory to castigate and WAR against what God has released in you that has the power to overthrow the enemy’s tactics. People will JUDGE you and your ministry based on hearsay, especially the whisperings & murmurings of those who are under the influence of the strongholds you are warring to pull down. Others who are JEALOUS of your level of success (that they feel is unwarranted because they have “plowed” longer and harder….so they think), will also say all manner of evil against you. The funniest thing to me is how they ALL join together, but only on things that cause greater division. However, I won’t be moved. I am in GREAT company. They did it to all of the Prophets & Apostles before me, and they did it to the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. So my faith in God is resolute. I trust Him and His process. I think Him for the validation & affirmation of people who walk in tremendous callings, ranks, & mandates who have both Global Impact & Measurable FRUIT! (Most of the people speaking against you have NOTHING to show for their service, “ministry,” and labor). I thank Him for my family and my New Life Covenant Church family. I thank Him for EVERY enemy (supposed or actual) who have PUSHED me into increasing degrees of utter surrender and abandonment to the Lord. I thank Him for every person who has opened their mouth to speak against me…it has let me know hell’s strategies. People have accused me of all sorts of things…it’s actually funny to hear some of them - because they are so far from the truth. People call you controlling when you hold them to a biblical standard & ministerial ethics. It’s a “dangerous” thing to NOT AGREE with someone’s rebellious stance against what’s right. They will invest time & energy into making sure you are Misrepresented. (Invite people to dinner and pay for it just to castigate you). Sadly, most people will listen to THAT over discerning what’s true…or even having a conversation with you to understand the other perspective, because there are ALWAYS at least two sides. People will call you tyrannical for having a standard of excellence that you operate by in ministry - although their bosses on their jobs can have standards and they simply comply. People who are offended, insecure, or rebellious will ALWAYS have issues with people who are strong and authoritative, even when it’s exercised in real love, care, and concern for THEM and their well-being. People who are simply JEALOUS will do all they can to tear you down in an attempt to make themselves shine. Yup, I have experienced a lot these past four years. It’s worked brokenness, maturity, growth, and change in me. Over and over, I am just overjoyed because I am convinced that the absolute BEST isn’t only about to come…It’s Here!
