As I am awake - perhaps still on Israel time (?) I am preparing my heart for the proclamation of seeing in new ways and being seen by God - who views the hearts of his creatures. Prayers have been lifted up (very early) this morning for all the clergy, deacons and laity of the Metro NY Synod as we prepare to give God praise and worship and celebrate his love for us in Jesus Christ - the healer and teacher. My mind wanders back to where 15 of us were last Sunday at this very moment: We had walked the Via Dolorosa, had worshiped (in German!) at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, were eating lunch and anticipating a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. Because of that pilgrimage, we ALL see with new eyes - the stories of the bible as they are brought to light in a new way.
