As I have stated before, I am not a fan of memorials or funerals. I am of the Spend time with em now, dont wait until they are gone philosophy...I dont want a funeral, or a memorial when Im gone. That said, ANYONE who does want a memorial, I am fine with, not criticizing anyone for having one. Everyone is different, everyone makes their own choice about such matters and good for that. :) I dont attend memorials as a rule. However, my sweet husband, who I would do anything for, wanted to go to his Aunt Clarices memorial in Monticello today. I wasnt about to let him go alone, so I went. And, it was fine, typical memorial, very sweet. BUT.... one thing completely blew me away. In the middle of a tribute by one of Aunt Clarices daughters, the daughter said Oh, by the way, if you were wondering what the package is on the table, thats Mom! They had her cremated and put her in an absolutely gorgeous gift box!!! I smiled about how incredibly cool that was....and you know what I immediately thought??? Damn, I wish I could have known this lady, she had to be a HOOT!! ...Once more proving my point about visiting them and loving them while they are here with us!!! Good for you Aunt Clarice, way to go out in style!!!!
