As I sit here tonight eating the supper my wonderful wife cooked for me, laughing with my precious daughter, and watching TV in my home God blessed me with, I think of my friend, Richard, lying in a hospital bed most likely alone struggling to breathe. I watched him grimace with pain even after they gave him a shot for pain. With an oxygen mask over his face and another oxygen device in his mouth, he was unable to talk. But when I said goodbye and started to leave, there was a change in his face, a look of dread. I asked him, Richard, do you not want me to leave? Bless him he shook his head No so I stayed a while longer until they gave him a sedative and he was asleep. We take so many things for granted. As I lay here tonight with my loving family, safe and comfortable, my buddy struggles to survive, alone. More than I want to deal with. But my God and Richards God is with him and will never leave him or forsake him. I Love You, Richard. Im sorry, my Brother.
