As I sit on the front porch of my little corner of the world my mind is consumed of what an important roll porches have played in my life. It is where, as a child my aunt played her banjo, my grandfather his harmonica, and where my feet learned to dance. It is where much joy, sadness, and conversations were shared. You could say the porch is where I learned to be who I am today. I can only hope that my children and grandchildren pass down the porch tradition and that they paid attention to the small talk. Because, the small talk of front porch conversation is what embedded my core beliefs that I carry today. Every family should have porch time and memories.
