As I woke up from a nap just now, this scripture came to my mind. The Spirit whispered to me that I needed to share my testimony of this scripture in regards to current events happening in my Church. I dont just believe that God can reveal truth to me, I KNOW He can because He has revealed eternal truths to not only my mind, but more importantly, He has revealed them to my heart. However, revealed truth has never been my perception of truth, or reality, it is truth as it really is. The Book of Mormon prophet Jacob taught this, Behold, my brethren [and sisters], he that prophesieth, let him prophesy to the understanding of men [and women]; for the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not. Wherefore, it speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be; wherefore, these things are manifested plainly unto us plainly, for the salvation of our souls. But behold, we are not witnesses alone in these things; for God also spake them unto the prophets of old. Jacob 4:13 The rate at which these things are revealed to me has come only as fast as I truly humble myself. I am so grateful for the humility, meekness, and lowliness of heart that the Prophet Joseph exhibited as he sought to know which church to join almost 200 years ago. His life was an example of meekness that I seek to emulate. Revealed truth as it really is does not come to those who are seeking knowledge to increase their intellectual expertise so that they may lift themselves up in their pride and ego. No, it only comes to those who are humble, meek, and have a lowliness of heart as they seem to align their will with that of the Father.
