As Ive posted before, I believe that Géza Anda was at his best in the earlier decades of his career, most consistently up to 1955, but of course when he was on, he was ON. Heres a live 1970 concert performance of Bartóks Piano Concerto No.2 with the Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Bernard Haitink. While he gave a 1952 concert performance with Fricsay that is off-the-charts in terms of electricity and tension (alas, its not on YouTube), there is plenty of fire in this reading (and the YouTube uploader has synced the score with the recording). Anda demonstrates that Bartok doesnt mean Banging, as his tone is lovely throughout and he phrases lyrically, and in high-energy sections he still creates tension and excitement without ever being aggressive.
