As Part of the Fire Cover Review 2013 by South Wales Fire and Rescue Services, It outlines that it wants Kenfig Hill Fire station to close, along with Porthcawl Fire Station and a new station to be built in South Cornelly. Job losses are likely as some firefighters will fall out of the category of 5 minutes away from station, because as we know that area is busy especially at peak times. In the Fire Cover Review it states "By carefully choosing a location between the two Fire Stations, we can provide more efficient protection with only a very small statistical increase in risk." But as a member of the public with children Im not happy with any additional risk no matter how small the stats are. Ill post links etc with more information regarding this issue as they come along. In the mean time as many likes as possible guys from all of you to see if we can gather some momentum behind this and get our voices heard!
