As Penelope and I took our peaceful morning walk this morning,up - TopicsExpress

As Penelope and I took our peaceful morning walk this morning,up from the Ohio valley below, along the Ohio River came a bold train horn this morning. Three shorts and a Looooooooooooong whistle. It echoed for a good while through the hills, and even after it stopped it continued to echo in my mind. It reminded me of days long past when my Grand-dad Eichenberg worked on the railroad. And the walks we took along Vine Street and up the Vineyard hill to see the river on the other side. The date would have been around 1951. I remember my first train ride, leaving wheeling in a passenger car with my Mom. It reminds me of Christmas and my train under the tree that gives glee and excitement to my two young grandsons. The leaves on the maples are definitely starting to change now and the last of the tomatoes can be picked today. Rain is due here later this afternoon and evening, but the humidity is low now and the Son is bright. I am expecting a cousin Bob Bratton to stop by he is in town for his class reunion as is my cousin Carl Spring. Itll be nice seeing them again. The second pot of coffee is ready and time to make some breakfast. God bless you my friends and family, have a safe and fun weekend. Lord of All that is and was, Thank You for this day and the health we enjoy at this moment. Be with the families, I ask, that today will be going through emotional times. Help them to find joy and peace in the lives You have given them and for our cherished memories. Protect those who travel this day short and long distances. And, dear Lord, help the doctors and nurses, the technicians and the scientists who are battling Ebola, Alzheimers, Cancer and all diseases that they may find a cure. Continue to bless the children and our earth. Thank You for the blessings we have and do receive and for Your Grace (forgiveness). In Jesus the Christs name we pray, Amen.
