As a Realtor®, when you take a short sale listing you understand that there are reasons for a short sale. You really try your best to sell the home in a timely manner so that the seller can put this negative home ownership behind them. But, sometimes you cant. Sometimes the banks wont negotiate. Sometimes the buyer wont negotiate. Sometimes the seller wont negotiate. We are still in a very saturated market with short sales and bank owned property. The media would like you to think otherwise. Does this mean if your trying to sell your home it has a negative impact on your process.... No.... Its always easier to do a traditional home sale. Does this mean as a buyer there are still deals to be made on these distressed properties.... No.... The banks are in most cases wanting full retail value. So... All that being said... What does that mean for the current real estate market? Who really knows.... Its an ever evolving story written one contract at a time. Trying to sell dreams and trying to fix nightmares. So why am I writing all of this? Well... Today is a bittersweet day. This is my one year anniversary with an amazing real estate company. Watson Realty Corp. Its been an awesome rookie year for me. Ive had very good sales, easy contracts, great buyers, and mostly great sellers... Kidding.... But today on my one year anniversary in Real Estate, one of my listings sold at public auction. It was the home of a very close friend. The bank said they were doing everything in their power to cancel the sale, and yet they were the ones who bought it at auction. Its very hard to not be a little jaded by the experience. I will now have a very different outlook on a banks perspective of a homeowner, because unlike me they dont see their customers for who they are. PEOPLE. I am making it my goal to make sure that I continue to serve my customers as if they are my family and to continue to sell dreams. I Love What I Do And I Love The People I Do It For.
