As a country (AMERICA) WE are so eagerly to fight, kill and even steal for the rights of citizens in other countries but when it comes to our own citizens killing each other unjustly we ignore all morals, values and basic common sense. WE demand respect from the world and try to establish a democracy like ours in other countries but why...... how can we lead by example when we set bad ones over and over again, just look at the history of our country from how it was developed, grew, and maintained division based on the color of ones skin and the hateful response to individuals who clearly see the injustices and speak of it. Even though we the majority agree on social issues and ways of living, doesnt mean we are right. Tragic Reality......Jesus was killed by the majority, slavery existed because of the many, mass incarceration has/is occurring and is ignored among the mass and our current President ( Barack Obama) , is hated by the most. As a Black Women in America I question why I am/can/will be, treated different solely on my skin type, texture of my hair and the sound of my speech.. and not accepted based on the contents of my character and the many contributions I have made/making for a better world, country and society. As Dr. Martin Luther King stated: Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly......... I am feeling sad, lonely, confused, angry, hurt and bruised but not broken. I will not, nor will I ever give up the hope of my ancestors dreams and veer away from the paths they created for me....No longer are we in a fight with being physically enslaved but we are in a battle with being mentally enslaved, that leads to a stowaway of voices trapped, dismissed, and unheard.....
