As a veteran, today I have so many mixed feelings. It is disheartening to see the condition of our country and how some of us have no bigger enemies in the world than EACH OTHER. The spirit of unity, the American spirit has always been what made America great. The fact that a people of all different backgrounds and races WILLINGLY come together to fight for our country to keep it one of the greatest nations in the world is lost to the rest of the country at this time. People that have picked a side, Republican, Democrat, or Independent or white, black, or hispanic- in the past four years have made us look like one of the WEAKEST country in the world. There is no single sect in this country, there is ONLY AMERICA! If the MILITARY can come together and fight, live, and work together as one- having each others back as brothers and sisters together, America WHY CANT YOU DO THE SAME??!!! So many people wrote the stenographer at the House of Representatives off as crazy, but she is right in the rant she went on. A NATION divided against itself CANNOT STAND. So if you want to honor myself, my husband, and every other veteran who has fought for our country- what you can do to honor us today is to pass on this message and examine what YOU are doing to keep our nation great. Are you part of the problem in our country or part of the solution? I urge you to PLEASE take my words into consideration because the fear of my husband, myself, and many other service women and men is that the day is quickly approaching that we will not have to protect you from other countries as much as we will reverse the hands of time and have to protect you from EACH OTHER- as we had to during the civil rights era. The level of hate and contempt in the country has indeed made things just that serious.
