As a young boy growing up in Jimeta, one often visited friends and relations in Yola town as it is often called. It is seat of power of the emir, the LAMIDO. The late Lamido exercised the office with justice, fairness, selfless service and respect for adherents of other religions. The road leading to the great Fombina was always in good shape, even when you notice a pot hole then, you find people saying, "because of the Lamido it will soon be fixed." Today, the road is horrific, a nightmare for all road users. To add to the sorrows of the Fombina road users is the long queue no thanks to the presence of military check point. Has the Lamido lost out with government? Or has the reverence and respect for the seat of power buried. Perhaps, Lamido has lost the sacredness of his office. In the name of Lamido Aliyu Mustafa Baba Nyako do something. Our roads are bad, I think Adamawa has the poorest roads in the country.
