As i’m sure most of you are now aware, it has been reported to us that the lights on the large Christmas Tree on Mount Folly have been damaged beyond repair, resulting in the Town Council being forced to remove the tree to prevent any further damage being caused to either the tree, the surrounding area, or members of the public. We want to reassure you that the crime is being investigated, and we are liaising closely with Bodmin Town Council. It is appreciated that this has caused a lot of unrest within the community of Bodmin and we are very grateful to those people who have offered their services to the Town Council to replace the tree and lights. Debbie and I are following up information passed to us from members of the public, and along with CCTV evidence, we have identified two offenders responsible for the damage. We will not be ‘naming and shaming’ the offenders whilst the investigation is ongoing. We would request that comments are not made regarding the possible identity of the individuals. This can be detrimental to the enquiry. We would also like to suggest that if the individuals responsible for the damage are reading this post, that they make contact with us as soon as possible – This is not going to go away and Police will be speaking with you both in the very near future. If anyone has any further information regarding this incident and if anyone has any further information regarding this crime, please contact us on 101 quoting crime number CR/130237/14. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Many thanks, Ellie & Debbie.
