As many of you know I am a Germantown Business Owner with offices in the 5500 block of Germantown Avenue. I belong to no camp although this post may unintentionally place me in one. But it seems to me as a newcomer to the area ( 2 years in November) that the Hope of Germantown lies squarely In the hands of a small group of people who from my observations are fragmented and torn apart by minor differences. Some are passionate and confident in their thoughts and ideas while others are quiet and contemplative for fear of being publicly humiliated or shunned. I am simply an observer. So my question is...Is this my perception and my perception alone? Is this the culture of the community I hope to call home? And if our collective goal lies in our desire to see a thriving Germantown, in what way does the nitpicking, finger pointing, toxicity advance that?
