As many of you know I did a lot of research about the buildings I live in. Levendale Hospital or Hawkhead Asylum as it was more pleasantly known until its name change was a scary place - one of the things I heard or read often was that the more violent of patients would break the astragal windows ( thats the small windows that make up one large window ) in order for the nurses to stick cardboard in them until they were repaired. The idea being that the place would get darker and darker and then give the patient a chance to attack or do something not good . Im only saying that as perfectly good light fittings in the flat and new wiring seems to fail at every opportunity. Bedroom lights all blown, one light working in the living room, lights just flickered out in the hall and now all the kitchen lights are out, I think its the transformer ?
