As many of you may know, I have been working with my rescue, Friends of Bibb County Alabama Pound, and trying to save animals in my county for more than 3 years now. I have been dealing with on-going pain and mobility problems from my hip, and now I must have a total hip replacement. Thanks to so many people who have donated to help me get this procedure done. Not only have so many helped with the medical parts for me, but others have donated to help keep the rescue going while I am recovering from the surgery. Although I have never met many of the people who have opened their hearts to help us, I feel that you are all a part of my family. I put off getting medical attention for so long because I knew I could not afford to be off work that long, and the babies at the pound could not afford for me to be away either. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support shown from so many people. In one of my posts I stated that I do not have many family members any longer who could step up and help me, but now I know I am so blessed to have a new family to help me through this journey. I will be going to the doctor Tuesday (1/20) to get the dates for surgery scheduled, and hopefully this will be done pretty soon, so I can get back to the business of saving them babies. I will still be in touch with my helpers who will be assisting me run the rescue, and the other angels while I am recovering, and we will continue working with the pound babies and rescues to get homes for all these babies we can.
