As of this week I have started a new journey as the Interim Director for the TRIO program at Olympic College. I am thrilled to be afforded the opportunity to further shape this program and I am excited about the new role and responsibilities. Since the decision, I have been in deep contemplation regarding the privileges that I am the benefactor of. I acknowledge: persistence, resilience, understanding the importance of interpersonal communication, the value of maintaining professional relationships, and the benefit of having access to the insights of seasoned professionals are advantages I oftentimes take for granted. Furthermore, age, gender, and education have also worked in my favor. All of these factors, and MANY more have contributed to this opportunity. Hundreds of hands and boots are always involved, not just a single pair.
